When I saw this picture of this poor Iraqi child, I was shocked for two reasons. 1) how could anyone do this to a child, and 2) how in the hell did this picture make the front page of CNN, and where the hell were these pictures before and during this war

http://www.cnn.com/...

Lately, I've seen a surprising number of articles on CNN talking about victims, about tragedies with soldiers and Iraqi's, about refugees and grief, about the hell of just trying to survive over there.

And all I can say to them and every other latecomer is... FU#$%^&* YOU! How dare these people try to be sympathetic now. They act so surprised that Americans saw a burned child and actually cared enough to try and help. Despite the occasional lunatics, we truly are a great, compassionate bunch, which is exactly why pictures like these and all other horrific shots of war were nowhere to be seen as the frenzy to invade and occupy was being built up.

We all know how difficult it would be to drag the American people to any war if they came face to face with the true horrors, so we limit them to video game night shots and Rambo like profiles of men with guns and their toys.

And now, the same media force that led to these and worse tragedies is trying to play saint, trying to focus on all the horrors, with not a mention of their role in it. None of the apologies I heard from any of the news organizations ever cut it for me. None of them were ever truly held accountable, and I think it's our fault.

Where the hell were these pictures in the run up to the war? We have plenty of them from the last time! Was there ever a whisper about the death and destruction we would cause? Sure...millions of us shouted about it on the streets over and over, as we were denied any voice at all on CNN and everywhere else. And now these c-suckers seem so saddened that something this bad can happen. Where are the profiles of the people that our tax dollars blew apart? I'm so seething mad right now, all I want to know is, what can we do to challenge CNN and others on this issue? Have we given up any hope of accountability for their role in the war? Can we force them to keep putting up terrible profiles like this one to keep swaying public opinion? Or, if possible, how do we just remind them of their role in all of this so that every last one of them has the same terrible nightmares that I've had for the last few years? Any thoughts?
